Forest fire fighting

On 1 March, the daily forest fire monitoring service in Saxony was launched. Eastern Germany is prone to forest fires; in 2025, more than 2,000 hectares of forest burned in Saxony alone. It is clear that forest firefighting will once again be a key focus at the FLORIAN trade fair in 2026.

A look back at 2025:

Firefighting knows no boundaries – the members of the Pulsnitz Volunteer Fire Brigade experienced this impressively this year! Together with Blaulicht magazine and their partner brigade in Croatia, 10 firefighters travelled abroad, accompanied operations, tried out new techniques and gained a wealth of experience.

At FLORIAN 2025, the comrades from Pulsnitz demonstrated how such a project works and what they learnt in the process. They shared not only fascinating stories from their day-to-day operations but also plenty of practical insights:

👉 a mobile high-pressure extinguishing system
👉 the off-road roll container from MiniTec
👉 various firefighting backpacks and tools that have proven their worth

The firefighters also spoke openly about the challenges that such an international project entails – and how to overcome them nonetheless.
