28th Conference on Municipal Flood Control Measures

October 8 and 9, 2026

As part of the 25th “FLORIAN” Trade Fair for Firefighting, Civil Protection, and Disaster Management, taking place October 8–10, 2026, at MESSE DRESDEN, the 28th Conference on Municipal Water Rescue Services will be held.

The event is aimed at everyone involved in flood protection, particularly representatives of local governments, disaster management organizations, fire and flood response teams, specialized agencies, and interested citizens, clubs, and associations.

In particular, the conference offers an opportunity to gain and exchange ideas on improving municipal information preparedness, optimizing incident management, and enhancing communication among emergency response teams.

Presentations, discussions, and the direct exchange of experiences and information among experts from academia, the technical sector, and government agencies are intended to raise participants’ awareness of current and future challenges in hazard response—including those related to potential climate change impacts—and prepare them to address these challenges.

A key focus this year will be on operational emergency response. One session will also address municipal preparedness for heavy rainfall.

The detailed program and registration information for participants will be available here shortly.
